Images and artwork we create for you

While we work hard to make things as simple for you as possible, we also want to be as appealing as we can be when it comes to pricing. This is why we structure our pricing around the following licensing options:

Option 1: Personal use license

Eventhough we retain the copyright to our photos and artwork, we will provide you with hi-res copies on CD or DVD. You are free to use it for personal use, including emailing to your friends, posting on your personal website, making copies for your Christmas cards etc. The only thing you may not use it for is commercial gain.

The idea here is that the work we create for you has more value to us if we can use it in our own portfolio. It is a way for us to promote our work and build our business. This would be the most suitable option for most people.

Option 2: Commercial use license

There are two options under the commercial use license:

  • You may choose to license our stock photos or artwork from us on a per-use basis. Here, we would retain copyright to our own work, and license you the rights to use our images in your own products, for example a calendar or a book on dogs.
  • Alternatively, you may commission us to take photos or create artwork for you, which you may then purchase the copyrights to. With this option, copyright is attributed to you completely. You own the work and can use it in any way you see fit, whether for commercial or personal use.

This is a more costly option, but it gives you complete control and ownership over the artwork we create for you. This option may be more suitable for businesses or for those who may prefer a more exclusive product.

Option 3: Lease option

We also offer framed prints of our photos and artwork on a lease basis. You will be able to lease our artwork for a monthly or annual fee, and exchange them for new ones whenever you're ready for a change!

Please note that if you provide us your own images from which artwork is to be created, you must own the rights to the image. You will retain copyright to the original image, while the derivative artwork will be copyright Digital Multimedia Creations, and subject to the same licensing options as above.

If the photography or artwork we create includes a recognizable person's face, we will need to have that person sign a model release form that allows us to use the image in our portfolio.
